 John Higdon – Sr. Vice President
John Higdon’s career comprises almost two decades of experience in the mortgage-lending
business. He is responsible for managing wholesale mortgage loan originations,
underwriting and closings for the First National Bank of the South.
John is a graduate of Wake Forest University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.
 Chris Maxwell – Vice President of Secondary Market
Chris Maxwell's focus is pricing and rate sheet parameters as well as new product
guidelines. Prior to his role as VP of Secondary Markets, Chris Maxwell served
as a Secondary Market Assistant and Manager at First National Bank of Christiansburg,
VA. Chris is also responsible for locking loans with investors and product matrix.
Chris is a native of Appomattox, VA and a graduate of Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s
degree in Finance.
 Chad Gilmore- Account Executive
Chad Gilmore has more than seven years of lending experience for various wholesale
lenders. For the past four years Chad has served as an Account Executive and
has focused on making the mortgage lending process easy and manageable for his
customers.
Chad is based in Roanoke, VA and a graduate of Virginia Tech.
 Jeffrey Roeder – Underwriter
Jeffrey Roeder has more than 14 years of mortgage and banking experience, and brings
a wealth of knowledge to his position as senior underwriter. His specialties
include processing, closing and underwriting. Jeffrey is an on-site underwriter
in the Greenville, SC office.
Jeffrey is a South Carolina native and graduate of the University of South Carolina.
 Phyllis Brosh - Senior Underwriter
Phyllis Brosh’s career in the mortgage industry totals more than 17 years. She
has spent the past decade working as a contract underwriter and an additional
13 years in the United States Military Intelligence Command. Phyliis has also
previously served as a realtor.
Phyllis and her husband Mark, now reside in China Grove, NC.
 Stephanie Sons - Senior Underwriter
Stephanie Sons has been involved in the mortgage industry for more than 27 years,
beginning her career as an underwriter in 1984.
Stephanie resides in Mt. Pleasant, SC and is a graduate of Winthrop University
in Rock Hill, SC.
 Lynette Jones – Wholesale Loan and Marketing Coordinator
Lynette Jones’ responsibilities in the Wholesale division include scheduling
loan closings and verifying that files meet investor guidelines. She also assists
with the coordination and preparation of all marketing materials for the Wholesale
division.
Lynette is a native of Greensboro, NC and a graduate of North Carolina A&T
where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Communications.
 Danielle (Dani) Smith – Closing and Funding Manager
Danielle “Dani” Smith brings more than ten years of experience to this position,
having previously served as a processor and loan officer for both nonconforming
loans and a real estate mortgage office. She brings a wealth of knowledge in
closing, operations and sales management.
Dani is a native of Gladwin, MI and a graduate of Ferris State University, with
a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
 Joyce Brinck – Post Closing Manager
Joyce Brinck has 18 years of experience in the mortgage business, where she began
her career as a mortgage loan processor. She has worked as an office manager
where she was charged with preparing closing packages. Joyce currently serves
in post closing, ensuring that investor guidelines and required documentation
are met after the loan closings. She ships the closed and funded files to the
investor in which the loan has been sold. Most recently, Brinck was recruited
to serve as a mortgage underwriter.
Joyce is native of South Carolina and currently resides in Dacusville, SC
Shelley Balding – Wholesale Loan Coordinator
Shelley Balding's responsibilities in the Wholesale division include scheduling
loan closings and verifying that files meet investor guidelines. She
has previously worked in television at Channel 7 and as a Loan Document Preparation
Specialist at Carolina First Bank.
Shelley is a native of South Carolina and is a graduate of USC Upstate, with
a bachelor's degree in Communications.
Heather Witmer – Wholesale Loan Coordinator/Closer
Heather Witmer's responsibilities in the Wholesale division include scheduling
loan closings and verifying that files meet investor guidelines. She also assists
with preparing closing packages. She has previously worked at Carolina First Bank
as Team Leader for the Loan Document Prep department.
Heather is a native of Watsonville, CA and is a graduate of Bob Jones University,
with a bachelor's degree in Rhetoric and Public Address. She is currently working
on a masters in Professional Communication at Clemson University.
Elaine Hardin – Pre-Closer/Closer
Elaine Hardin brings almost four decades of experience in the mortgage industry
to First National. She has worked in processing, underwriting, secondary marketing
operations, collections and foreclosures and mortgage closing. She has served
as a volunteer in the community with a number of civic and professional organizations
and was Charter President of the Greater Greenville Association of Professional
Mortgage Women. Currently, her responsibilities in the Wholesale Division include
scheduling loan closings and verifying that files meet investor guidelines. She
also assists with preparing closing packages.
Elaine is a Greenville County native and resides in Cleveland, SC with her husband
and one cat. Her favorite past time is enjoying her grandchildren. |
